Thermocouple for Flue Gas Temperature Measurement
Every 20°C deviation from optimum flue gas temperatures increases the fuel consumption by
1%. Monitoring the flue gas temperatures helps to keep a continuous check on this loss. Typical temperature of Flue gas at bottom of the boiler is up to 1200°C with the media containing Carbon
dioxide, Oxygen and nitrogen etc. and gradually reducing as it moves upward. Thermocouple types K
or N are suitable for these media with Ceramic protection tubes to ensure longer operation time.
