A screw plug immersion heater is a compact and efficient variant of the pemanas celup, where the mounting flange is replaced by a threaded plug. The hexagonal threaded head has one or more tubular heat sources & screws into the side of the tank, container or processing line using a standard external thread coupling.
Tempsens Screw Plug Heaters are used to heat liquid within small tanks/containers, & are supplied as single phase or three phase powered devices. They can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical configuration, and can be supplied with a sumur termal for the purpose of containing a temperature sensing device or thermostat for automatic on/off control.
Tempsens is a manufacturer of high quality electric heating elements, and engineers each electric heating element to deliver an exceptionally consistent, safe and energy efficient method of delivering heat energy in an industrial atmosphere.

Benefits of Screw Plug Immersion Heaters
- Direct thread mounting eliminates the need for flanges and reduces installation complexity.
- Compact design of screw plug types makes them exceptionally well suited for use in small tanks and vessels.
- Lower material and installation costs than would be associated with flanged immersers.
- Very easy to maintain because of the easy removal of the screw plug on the threaded plug.
- Integrated temperature control option eliminates need for separate control panel.
- Seals using ceramic, soft seal or sealant type prevent the entry of moisture.
- High purity magnesium oxide filled heater offers the highest quality electrical insulation and thermal conductivity.
- Resistance wire is formed in a concentric (closely spaced) coil configuration around the heated area of the heater to promote consistent heat distribution.
- Very energy efficient with very little heat loss while heating.
- Can be used for both corrosive and non-corrosive fluids. Select right sheath material based on application.

Find answers to frequently asked questions related to Screw Plug Immersion Heater.
The immersion heater attaches to the tank or vessel wall through a threaded fitting. Heating occurs through electric resistance coils inside the sheath transferring heat energy to the fluid surrounding the immersion heater. The result is quick and efficient heating of the fluid.
A screw plug immersion heater can be used to heat any type of fluid including water/oil and solvent-based fluids as well as gas heating systems, however you will need to ensure you have the right sheath material and watt density selected for your specific medium to use it correctly.
A screw plug immersion heater installs using a threaded plug and is primarily designed to heat smaller tanks. Flanged heaters install using a bolted flange and are most commonly used with larger tanks while inline heaters are integrated directly into pipelines so they can heat continuously as fluid flows through them.
