ABOUT

Microwave Furnaces - For UAE & Gulf Countries

Introduction

Microwave furnaces are a type of specialised heating equipment which generates their heat through electromagnetic radiation in the microwave region of the electromagnetic spectrum (2.45 GHz). This is achieved through dielectric heating where the microwave energy penetrates the dielectric material and causes the dielectric molecules to vibrate. Microwaves generate heat internally by rapidly vibrating the molecules, immediately creating heat. This more advanced technology has a number of advantages over conventional electric furnaces; including higher energy efficiency, shorter heating cycles, and better temperature uniformity. Tempsens Instruments is the leading microwave furnace manufacturer, manufactures advanced microwave heating systems that can heat materials up to 1600°C, and are therefore suitable for materials processing, sintering, calcination and semiconductor manufacturing in laboratory and industrial environments across the UAE and GCC countries.

About Microwave Furnaces

Working Principle Of Microwave Furnace

The microwave furnace principle is based on dielectric heating. A microwave furnace uses magnetrons to emit electromagnetic waves to the furnace chamber at a frequency of 2.45 Gigahertz. The microwaves penetrate the dielectric materials in the chamber and excite the polar molecules to oscillate rapidly, producing heat through friction. This heating method is known as volumetric heating because it heats the entire part of the piece rather than just being in contact with the heating element. Hence, the speed of heating, the energy efficiency of heating, and the ability to achieve uniform temperature distribution throughout the sample are much higher than with a conventional heating method and there is no need for the piece being heated to be in contact with the heating element.
